William Shakespeare poem #3

                Hark! Hark! The Lark

Hark! hark! the lark at heaven's gate sings,
And Phoebus 'gins arise,
His steeds to water at those springs
On chalic'd flowers that lies;
And winking Mary-buds begin
To open their golden eyes;
With everything that pretty is,
My lady sweet, arise:
Arise, arise!

This poem is about the beauty of dawn. Shakespeare expands on this concept with vivid words, rhymes, and personification. Examples of rhymes would be " Hark and Lark", "Sings and Springs", "Arise, lies, and eyes", and etc. He personifies "..winking Mary-buds begin to open their golden eyes". In addition, he briefly speaks about Phoebus which is the sun god. He is grateful that the sun rises day in and day out.
